Why make a model?

Scale models are a unique opportunity to create an engaging physical object. Architectural models are our thing! The Polygenic Studio team is passionate about collaborating, creating objects and enabling communication of ideas. We cater for a wide range of clients: artists, architects, students and other professionals.

Don’t know where to start, not a problem, we are here to help. We typically work from drawings or 3D models however we can also start from scratch, helping to develop your ideas together.

But its not just scale models. From ideas to objects.

With more than ten years experience in digital fabrication the Polygenic Studio team is ready to make your next project a reality. Scale architectural models to awards and installations, our team can design, fabricate and construct, always going above and beyond.

We deliver a high quality product, every time. Everything we make is designed and built in our Sydney workshop. This way we can ensure quality is never compromised while maintaining fast and efficient service even with those last minute changes.

Architectural Models.

Polygenic Studio specialises in detailed architectural models for all stages of the design process at a variety of scales in many materials. We take advantage of our in-house technologies such as 3D printing and CNC milling to rapidly produce high quality models. Everything is made in-house, right here in Sydney, Australia. See some of our selected projects here.

3D Digital / CAD Models.

Just about everything we make has to start with a 3D CAD model, it’s what we do. Although having a 3D model ready to go can reduce cost and lead time, its definitely not essential. We can build 3D computer models too from concepts, sketches or 2D CAD files.

Some Councils now require the submission of a digital model as part of a development application, as we are making 3D models already it makes sense to keep it all in the one place. Why not contact us for your next DA or OC digital model requirements and package in a physical model too. Find out more about this here.

3D Printing.

Our in-house high end 3D printer provides highly detailed prints fast, utilising multi jet printing technology (similar to SLA) with UV cured resin and wax supports for easy post processing of delicate parts. We can help turn your digital model and ideas into reality, or start from simple drawings. The latest software enables us to thicken thin areas and hollow models quickly for reduced wastage and fast cost estimation. See more here.

CNC Milling.

Our three axis machining service produces high quality sheet material cutting and advanced three dimensional smooth surface milling from a wide range of materials. We can work from just about any CAD formats or even PDF files. Find out more here.

Laser Cutting.

This process is able to cut or score fine detailed shapes in a variety of materials from acrylic to card. All we need is a simple 2D CAD or image file to cut or etch just about anything.
